How to Stay Motivated + Accept Imperfection
Self-motivation, drive, and determination are characteristics that propel us to achieve the life and success we have set out for. While these characteristics are admirable, we can sometimes push ourselves beyond our threshold. Sometimes we strive for perfectionism which may be setting us up for failure. Instead, here are some tips to help you manage your expectations and flourish without giving up.
1. Accept that you are only human.
Making mistakes are a very important aspect of growth. Instead of being discouraged with your failures, focus more on celebrating the small wins!
2. What is motivating you in the first place?
When you determine the ‘why’ that’s driving your actions, it will re-center your focus and perspective which may continue to motivate you.
3. Set realistic goals.
Often times we set expectations for ourselves that aren’t achievable which creates unnecessary stress and frustration. If you set realistic goals, you are able to achieve both health and personal goals in a deliberate and productive manner.
