Why Organic?

So what’s the deal about choosing organic versus conventional? There is a lot to be said for this, and it goes from the food we eat, to our household supplies, clothing, bedding, and the hygiene products that we use every day.

Here, we will focus on skincare and cosmetics as Balans next move is to open an organic spa on Newbury Street. Our mission is to have a place where the consumer can feel safe and cared for. We want to offer a place where we provide education and information about health and safety. Consumers have the right to know the choices they have. They have the right to know which product will benefit versus harm their health. At Balans Organic Spa, we will have no exceptions to our 100% organic philosophy.

Skincare is not just for women, it is for the whole family, men, babies, and children, included. Being exposed to harsh chemicals can damage our skin but also lead to more serious health problems such as hormonal imbalance, asthma, allergies, and cancer.

Simply by cleaning out our bathrooms and use cleaner hygiene products we can prevent a series of health problems. We are talking about shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, and moisturizers… products that every individual consumes on a daily basis. It adds up.

We absorb these products. We breathe them in. These chemicals become one with our body and organs. Maybe now we start to understand that the quality of these ingredients matter. It is so important. In fact, it can ultimately make the difference between developing an illness and staying healthy.

Looking at the ingredients is key. Have a critical mind! Many companies market their products as “organic” and “natural”, but often there are gaps even here. Mislabeling happens, and the standards of USDA and FDA are sometimes questionable.

Balans has made a decision to raise the bar and to clean up this industry starting in Boston. We are importing the Swedish Organic Skincare & Cosmetic line Maria Åkerberg Deepskin Organics. We have worked with them for almost two years now and can guarantee that it is by far the most pure line we have ever come across. 100% raw and organic and meets the European standards for quality control.
